Keep up with Spontaneous Theatre

Rebecca Northan

Rebecca is a multi-award-winning theatre creator/director/performer, a skilled corporate facilitator, and the Artistic Producer of Spontaneous Theatre. She has appeared on professional stages across Canada, the US, and the UK. Rebeccagrew up in Calgary, AB and trained at the Loose Moose Theatre with Keith Johnstone. She is an alumna of Toronto’s Second City, and has appeared in  numerous film & television projects. Since 2020, Rebecca has produced pandemic-safe performances on sidewalks and in parking garages, been an Apprentice Director at The Stratford Festival, as well as having been a member of the Shaw Festival Ensemble. Most recently, Rebecca directed a fan-favourite production of Comedy of Errors for Bard on the Beach in Vancouver.

Through her work with Spontaneous Theatre, Rebecca has emerged as an industry recognized leader in the creation of work that centres, engages, and takes care of audiences.

Bruce Horak

Bruce Horak is originally from Calgary, Alberta where he trained in Theatre and Improvisation at the prestigious Loose Moose Theatre. He has worked professionally in Canada and abroad for over 25 years. He can be seen onscreen in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for Paramount Plus as the Chief Engineer, Hemmer.

When not creating new works and performing onstage, Bruce devotes his time to painting, composing, and writing.
